We agree Tweeter is another great tool to make connections & to keep building & informing your fan base, or as we call them at KSE: "TBF" (True Blue Fans)

Having a thriving music career demands you have TBF.

In addition to this excellent blog on using Tweeter, Trent Reznor interviewed by Kevin Rose, Digg, Founder is interesting & informing:

Hey Sean, Nicely said.

I got onto Twitter on the advice of of our cyber PR firm, Ariel Publicity (cyberPR on Twitter-how's that for a plug Ariel?) I have a band, Citizens Of Contrary Knowledge, and was advised to abstain from the "ME, ME, ME" tweet promos 24/7 . I was also told to just keep tweeting for a few months with simply real commentary about what was happening at that time and not to expect too much. Now I've started to see the community thing coming together and have started to follow some folks totally unrelated to band fanbases but with great marketing ideas that could apply to anyone. Your article helped to shed light on the mystery of making Twitter work for bands. Thanks again.

Hey Sean, thanks for the comment. I checked out your article and it's really great. Some more musicians twitters that I hadn't found yet. Also judging by the comments in response to your article, it seems there's already a backlash against twitter... personally I don't see what anyone would think is annoying about it. It's a great way to "carry your favorite band around in your pocket" and feel really closely connected to them. I think if people are annoyed by it, they should try following different people, unfollowing some folk they are currently following, and maybe tweeting differently than they currently are. It is simply a platform, and it is what you make of it. All the best Sean!

Some really sensible advice in here. We were surprised how few bands were using Twitter well and when we launched http://musictwitters.com to give people a snapshot of what was being said, we were surprised by what we saw coming in. It's the musicians who speak as if they're a fan of music who are the most enlightening, people like Ed from Grizzly Bear and Colin from the Decemberists talking about music they're listening to, things they've found online has been great. Mike Skinner from The Streets, Kirstin Hersh and Imogen Heap all manage to self-document at the same time as giving insight to their fans. I did a little guide here: http://drownedinsound.com/in_depth/4136191
